One of the people’s favorite things to do in Lakeland, both visitors and residents alike, is to enjoy the plethora of fine dining the town has to offer. If you, too, love fine cuisine, and you haven’t yet tried Red Door Lakeland, you may as well never have eaten in Lakeland.

One of the premier classic American dining destinations in Central Florida, Red Door Lakeland has brought “Creative + Casual + Craft” to diners there since 2009. That means original edible creations served in a comfortable, relaxing environment alongside refreshing and unique craft beverages.

Setting and Atmosphere

Red Door is situated in the heart of downtown Lakeland in a renovated, historic home. Meals are served on a covered outdoor patio with a breathtaking view of Lake Morton. It’s walking distance from the Polk Museum of Art and is almost as closely surrounded by some of the area’s most notable attractions.

Menu

Under the guidance of owner and sommelier Richard DeAngelis, Red Door delivers from its own humble scratch kitchen gourmet dining that includes:

  • Brussels sprouts seasoned in local honey, seasonal berries, and apricot hot sauce
  • Roasted cauliflower in coconut broth with Thai chili and crispy chickpeas
  • A grazing platter that includes charcuterie, four kinds of cheese, a Mediterranean olive mix, deviled eggs, pickled golden raisins, and honey pistachios
  • Wagyu burger topped with caramelized onions, gruyere cheese, and chive aioli served on a ciabatta bun
  • Meatloaf with house-made ketchup served with root-vegetable gratin and charred broccolini
  • Pan-seared pork chops topped with apple compote, white bean spread, and red-wine braised cabbage.

The restaurant also serves holiday specials, including brunches and full-meal deals.

Enjoy these and a bounty of other delicacies with a refreshing craft beer or soothing glass of wine.

About Red Door’s People

Guided by a passion for discovering and learning about fine food, wine, and craft beverages, Richard DeAngelis has studied the restaurant industry for years, then spent more years developing direct experience and expertise.

Chef Lucy Cortes-Castaneda brings the edgy creativity of a New York artist to her culinary skills.

Together, the two eschew national brands. Instead, they work with independent vendors and other small business owners, and they hand-pick locally hand-crafted beers and wines. They also make sure the full staff, from bartenders to waitstaff to kitchen staff and bussers all represent and reflect the values of Red Door.

Special Offerings

Red Door even offers to-go orders you can place for pickup right away or schedule for a specific date and time within the next 10 days.

Red Door is also available to book for private events and frequently hosts special events of its own.
